Quality & Performance Improvement Certification Course Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the variety of tools, methods, and techniques of Quality Improvement in the Health Care environment. Participants will benefit from the course in two fundamental ways: They will be able to demonstrate their compliance with the Quality Improvement standards required by JCAHO and/or NCQA. They will be able to make significant contributions to their departments and/or organizations for better quality of patient care and services. Instructor: Your instructor for this course will be Ahmad Imran, MD, and CHCQM. Dr. Imran is a certified Diplomat American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physician and has years of experience working as a Physician, facilitator, trainer, and in the Health Care Field. Predominantly, Dr. Imran has provided training, instructional design, facilitation, data analysis, strategic planning, and process consultation to his clients at southern California hospitals and medical groups. Course Objectives: Identify the Quality Improvement Standards required by the JCAHO & NCQA. Describe the fundamental principles of the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) model. Identify the tree primary approaches to CQI Identify the four basic steps of the Quality Improvement process. Describe how CQI has been applied to other Health Care Organizations. Identify, construct, and analyze the seven basic tools of Quality Improvement. Describe the complete process, from start to finish, of Quality Improvement.
